Courtney is survived by her husband of 10 years, Timothy, whom she affectionately called her Hubbles — she, his Waffles, her obit says.
"Courtney was pure love and readily opened her heart to those around her. She loved her family and friends deeply and fought fiercely for them. She was a true mama bear," her obituary says. "Having Courtney in your corner made everything seem possible. The sun will shine a little less without her."
On Facebook, Timothy said that Courtney died at the Mary Washington Hospital after a "a brief and arduous" battle with renal cell carcinoma that metastasized to her organs. Timothy noted that Courtney was the love of his life.
